The Blue Scale: A Pirate Organization with a Cause

The Blue Scale is a pirate organization based in Ularansa, primarily operating in the Messos Archipelagos. They are not your typical pirates; they have a code of honor, targeting only ships from wealthy families or those associated with military forces. Their ultimate goal is the independence of the Messos Archipelago, envisioning it as a separate nation for thieves, ex-criminals, and societal outcasts.

Structure and Leadership

The organization operates on a pyramid structure of authority, with each member reporting to their immediate superior. The leader is a mysterious and stoic woman named Lys, believed to be a powerful rogue/sorcerer. She is known for her ruthless strategies and her unwavering commitment to the cause. Lys once said, “Freedom is not given; it is taken. We are the Blue Scale, the storm on the horizon, the beacon of hope for the oppressed.”

The Founding and the Rift

The Blue Scale was founded by Lys and Captain Jack Turner. However, a disagreement led to Jack’s departure from the organization. The disagreement was due to Lys’s initial plan to attack a Zenidorian ship carrying innocent civilians, including children. Jack, believing in their code of honor, strongly disagreed with this plan. Their disagreement escalated into a heated argument, leading to Jack’s departure. This event made Lys reconsider her approach, leading to a change in the organization’s tactics.

Internal Conflicts and External Threats

Currently, the organization faces internal problems, with some members acting more brutally and against their moral code, behaving more like traditional pirates. One such member is Captain James Ironhand, an outlaw from Zenidor. He has been gathering like-minded individuals, threatening the cohesion of the organization.

Another issue is the newly found orcish rebel conspiracy that threatens to ignite a war between Zenidor and the Orcs, especially with Zenidorians having gained influence in the Church of Messos.

The Future of the Blue Scale

The future of the Blue Scale hangs in the balance. Will they be able to maintain their moral code and achieve their goal of independence, or will they succumb to internal strife and external threats? Only time will tell.
