After a peaceful night aboard Maximoff’s vessel, Fate, under Normelia’s divine guidance and with Mirabell’s chronurgy magic and Z’mbo’s flash of genius, tried her hand at spiced wine, with less-than-delicious results. Mirabel took the opportunity to discuss recent happenings with Captain Maximoff of the Blue Scale. Sharing the story of their encounters with the Sahuagin and the curious symbol they discovered, Mirabel learned that this symbol was recognized and feared by the Blue Scale. It represented the New Dawn, a group of dragon sympathisers longing for the resurrection of the Norixian Empire.
The following day, while the Skyling engine was being recharged, Fate and Mirabel explored a nearby wreckage, leaving Z’mbo and Ulrich aboard Maximoff’s ship. The evidence pointed towards a Sahuagin attack, further confirmed by Fate’s keen observation of shark fins rapidly closing in on their position. Z’mbo, alerted by a magical message, managed to kickstart the engines quicker than anticipated. The duo, on their broomling, stalled the shark-riding Sahuagin with spells, ultimately putting them to sleep with a well-placed Hypnotic Pattern.
With the engines ready, the party took to the skies, leaving behind a looming shadow of a giant shark and an incoming horde of Sahuagin riders. They disembarked at a peaceful fishing island, Piscara, while Maximoff and his crew set sail for Alegria, an island known for its black markets and notorious parties.
The party soon met Captain Trenor Tralley, head of the independent Trenor Tralley Trade, and boarded his slow but sturdy galley, ‘The Eyes of the Ocean.’ Onboard, Fate’s second attempt at brewing, a honey wine, was a hit, leading to a business proposition from the impressed captain. The party’s entrance into Ularansa required some smooth talking and honey wine bribery to circumvent the strict security measures at Fort Arinea.
The breathtaking journey through Ularansa’s gulf revealed a spectacular vista, with the imposing volcano Relentla overshadowing the Crimson Company’s red essence refineries. Ularansa city, built across multiple cliffside levels, was a sight to behold, its splendor enhanced by the grand towers elevator towers each one having engulfed a statue, of a Paladin and a Monk, the magical Crescent Academy, and the towering Great Pharos lighthouse at the entrance of the port
Upon disembarking at Ularansa’s port, the weary party looked forward to some peace and answers to the mysteries they had uncovered in their journeys.
