At the Keras inn, the party met the Goliath owner Keras, his wife Jaya, and their rebellious half-Goliath daughter, Kerini. The inn was beautifully decorated with paintings of an eastern city beyond the Hantack desert, featuring pyramid-like city centers, houses along river canals, and vibrant neon lights.
After ordering a special meal of stuffed mushrooms for Ulrich, the party noticed patrons ordering a dish not listed on the menu. Intrigued, they ordered the same and found themselves in an underground fight club. Participants competed against Keras in his true mutated tentacle form in a push-to-the-hole competition with high stakes. The party, with their combined abilities and the unexpected use of Mirabel’s broomling (which Keras forgot to prohibit), emerged victorious, earning a substantial cash prize and leaving Keras to face his wife’s complaints.
They also met Normilia, an associate of the murdered cleric Othar, who was under close scrutiny by the guards. Normilia served as the fight club’s medic and provided the party with colorful illusion potions to consume before the fight, for undisclosed reasons.
After a night of celebration at the inn, Fate noticed a familiar figure in a painting. Keras revealed it to be a young Captain Jack Turner, also known as Reymond Turner, Fate’s father who disappeared 15 years ago and was presumed dead. Keras credited Jack for saving him from a dark path.
The party found Normilia suspicious and standoffish, almost leading to a verbal altercation when they tried to persuade her to join them for wine. Mirabel sent her raven to spy on Normilia at the Lighthouse of Messos, where they saw her crying. They also observed her leaving the lighthouse, entering a concealed basement on the beach, and interacting with something in the water.
