She often wears a pair of round spectacles perched on the bridge of her nose. Her clothing is practical yet stylish, favoring long robes in shades of dark blue almost black and silver.

As the quest giver, Professor Maelis provides the party with the information they need to find the Tranquil Reed in the Tranquil Marshes. She may also provide them with some magical items or advice to help them on their journey. Once the party returns with the Tranquil Reed, she will use it to create a potion to help Ulrich control his Shardborn powers.
